Its your wedding day, a day that you’ve either been planning your entire life or you’ve been planning since you got engaged. Either way, you’ve been thinking about this day and trying to decide what to splurge on and what to forgo. We’ve been to a lot of weddings and have been involved in planning lots of weddings and events. In our experience you need to decide what is important to you and then put more money into those items. Here are our top ideas of what you should splurge on at your wedding: #1. Dinner and Drinks! Everyone comes to a wedding because they want to celebrate with you. They will rave about the food and drink especially if you have a yummy signature cocktail or a dinner that reflects who you are as a couple. Spend the money on the dinner forgo appetizers and late-night snacks. Most guests do not even partake in late night eating, so splurge on dinner! #2. A Photographer You Trust. You want to frame these pictures to hang in your dwelling for years to come. You want pictures that reflect your love and your personality. Choose a photographer carefully and splurge on someone who will do a fantastic job. #3. Entertainment. Be it a band or a DJ your guests want to celebrate and enjoy the night. There is nothing worse than an I-pod on repeat or a DJ who won’t stop talking. Get to know your DJ and give them a playlist of what you want to hear. If you are hiring a band ensure that they can play a variety of music that your guests will enjoy. #4. Your attire. Splurge on your dress and his tux. You both want to look your best and feel your best on your wedding day. I talked with one bride whom said she felt she cheated herself by not speaking up and buying the dress of her dreams. Budget by cutting something else out, such as table decorations or flowers. Your flowers won’t be in every picture but your dress will. It’s the one day you can wear the dress of your dreams so do it! #5. A Photo Booth. Splurge so that you can have silly candid pictures of each guest alongside a heartfelt message. Your guests will love having pictures taken in a photo booth and you will love taking home a scrapbook full of memories the night of your wedding. You will see your grandparents falling over laughing, others will be kissing the camera and many will be giggling throughout the night as they go in and out of the photo booth sharing pictures. Do not miss this opportunity to add to the success of your reception. Everyone will love it! If you need to forgo a videographer for a photo booth we recommend it. You will only watch your wedding video once or twice and with today’s technology you can easily have a friend videotape it. You will read and re-read your scrapbook full of photo booth photos often!
